HISTORY
The fishery production cooperative California San Ignacio, SCL, is the first fishery production cooperative that was organized in Baja California, was originally formed in the neighborhood of San Lino, in the town of San Ignacio in Baja California Sur the April 6, 1939 with an initial roll of 45 members, under the general law of cooperative societies in 1938 issued.
PROCESSING PLANT
Almost all the founders were dedicated primarily to the activity of catching various species of the region, marketed fresh, used by others, as feedstock for the production of finished product.
It is up to the year 1977, when the great initiative and enthusiasm of its active members pushed the paperwork and work necessary for the construction and commissioning of a plant owned seafood in Baja California Sur bay assumption, a situation that is materialized in 1978 when it formally began its operations.
Currently, the cooperative has a roll of 124 partners and 60 employees who are active in one of three main sections that divide society, and they are: capture area, industrial area of accounting and administration of the number of partners, economically dependent on them for about 725 people..
